Community Foundation of East Central Illinois Awards $60,000 in Capacity Building Grants to Nonprofits Across Region

Champaign, IL — [July, 28, 2025] — The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois (CFECI) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Capacity Building Grant Cycle. Through this competitive grant process, $60,000 in total funding has been awarded to 15 nonprofit organizations representing many of the counties that applied for funding.

The Capacity Building Grant Cycle is designed to strengthen the internal capacity of nonprofit organizations—helping them grow stronger, more sustainable, and better equipped to meet the needs of their communities. Grant funding supports efforts such as staff or board development, strategic planning, marketing, web design, and other foundational improvements.

“We are thrilled to support such a dynamic group of organizations doing meaningful work throughout our region,” said Allison Winter, President & CEO of CFECI. “These capacity-building investments help nonprofits expand their impact and ensure long-term sustainability.”

CFECI is especially proud that this year’s recipients reflect the geographic diversity of the region it serves. The awarded organizations span Champaign, Douglas, Ford, Iroquois, Moultrie, Piatt, Vermilion, and Coles Counties, highlighting the innovation and dedication of nonprofit leaders across East Central Illinois.
