Champaign, IL — July 27, 2026 — The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois (CFECI) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Capacity Building Grant Cycle. Through this competitive grant process, $60,000 in total funding has been awarded to 14 nonprofit organizations representing many of the counties that applied for funding.

The Capacity Building Grant Cycle is designed to strengthen the internal capacity of nonprofit organizations, helping them grow stronger, more sustainable, and better equipped to meet the needs of their communities. Grant funding supports efforts such as staff or board development, strategic planning, marketing, web design, and other foundational improvements.

“Every year, we’re reminded of just how much talent and dedication exists within our nonprofit community,” said Allison Winter, President & CEO of CFECI. “These capacity-building investments allow organizations to strengthen their foundations, so they can continue showing up for the people and communities who need them most.”

CFECI is especially proud that this year’s recipients reflect the geographic diversity of the region it serves, highlighting the innovation and dedication of nonprofit leaders across East Central Illinois.
