The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois announced 26 nonprofit recipients of nearly $80,000 from the 2016 Annual Community Commitment Grants. Community Commitment Grants are funded by the Foundation’s endowment funds. Each year, nonprofits in a nine-county service area are offered the opportunity to apply for grants for durable goods or capital items not typically covered by other granting bodies. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations that provide services in the arts, health and human services, education and literacy, and food and nutrition—any area that helps to improve the quality of life of residents.
