The Community Foundation’s purpose is to build endowed funds that will support nonprofit organizations now and forever. That’s why we are probably best known for the grants we make. Any nonprofit organization within our service area is eligible to apply for grants that help them improve or expand their services.
Our annual unrestricted grant cycle encourages organizations to request funding for durable or capital items that help them be more efficient, add new services or serve more area residents. Micro-grants provide resources for training and professional meetings for staff and board members. Other funds are also used, depending on the intent of the donors, to provide assistance.
The Community Foundation holds a number of scholarship funds. We do not participate in the selection process for recipients. We make scholarship opportunities available to public high school counselors who share the information with students who meet the grant criteria for each scholarship.
